Long Island, NY (PRWEB) August 18,2005 Gone To Earth (GTE), a leading Long Island electronic and melodic rock band, will be the featured show at a three day Long Island Technology Festival, August 19-21 in Eisenhower Park. The event is a celebration of technology and innovation and a benefit for the Center for Science, Teaching, and Learning (CTSL), It is expected to draw thousands of local residents and a growing number of loyal GTE fans.
TechFest selected Gone To Earth as the main performers for the first of its kind event after hearing their unique sound and reading rave reviews of their live performances. The band is ascending to the top of the L.I. music scene and has already opened for multiplatinum stars including Incubus, The Music and Collective Soul. Gone to Earth captured the ears of Long Island music scene last year by winning a fifty band competition sponsored by WBLI at the popular rock club, The Downtown. They were an immediate favorite and have played at numerous clubs in New York City such as CBGB, The Downtime, Continental, and a variety of LI clubs. They went on to win other competitions and have been featured on radio and TV stations where they are known for their lively interviews and sense of humor.
Following the recent college graduation of several band members, Gone to Earth is now devoting all of its energy to performances and enlarging their fan base. The band is currently planning a showcase for a select group of leading publishers and labels and is booking shows throughout the Northeast area at music clubs, corporate events and colleges in the fall. Enthusiastic fans, excited by the bands earlier work, have been patiently waiting for the release of more of their highly original music. Fans will be able to hear their original material as well as brand new songs all three nights at Eisenhower Park festival.
